Gold Mountain, a new original musical, is a love story set against the backdrop of a pivotal event in America's history: the construction of the first transcontinental railroad. It is a heartfelt, universal tale that celebrates the striving immigrant spirit, the redemptive power of love, and the ultimate nobility of self-sacrifice among a team of Chinese railroad workers.
This staged concert presentation comes directly from New York City, performed by an Asian American cast, starring Ali Ewoldt whose roles on Broadway include her recent two and a half year run as Christine Daae in The Phantom of the Opera. The performances will be directed by Alan Muraoka, who is also known as an actor, credits including Miss Saigon and Aladdin on Broadway and his television work as a regular on Sesame Street.

"Summer of 2017 brought to Ogden many great events and among these annually-celebrated festivities, Ogden Musical Theatre was born! Weber County, along side a handful of sponsors, brought musical theatre back to Peery’s Egyptian Theater. It had been nearly a decade since the closing performance of Utah Musical Theatre, but many key individuals at Weber County dreamed that one day we would indeed bring music, dance, props, and cast members back to the 1927, 800-capacity, historic movie palace."
Ogden Musical Theatre has partnered with Spike150 and CRWDA to bring this amazing, live performance of Gold Mountain to the Ogden community on May 10th & 11th prior to their summer musical of Peter Pan in July & August. Learn more about OMT and find upcoming showtimes at ogdenmusicaltheatre.org
